Some dude from yahoo answers had a cool question. Now, its obvious he hasnt taken my secret quiz, but ignore that, and focus on his question, and how I answer it.
Question:
Why do women seem to get more devastated when a relationship goes bad? I am not saying this is true for all women, but you have to admit that there are far more women then men walking around for years devastated and bitter because of one certain relationship going bad. Why is that? Do women put more of themselves into a relationship then men?
My answer:
Actually, I just read an article where it says that this is a myth. It really is a myth. Look around you.
Who commits more suicides because of the opposite sex? Men.
Who commits violence after their partner leaves them? Men.
Who begs their partner to come back to them? Men do it way more.
Who ends up in the courts for stalking their ex-partner? Men.
Who threats their partner if they leave leave them? Mostly men.
See, women have too many options with men to get worked up with one man. Men have a much harder time finding a woman, that is why they flip when women leave them.

Women have a greater stake in the concept of forming and maintaining relationships. Women are the glue that holds civilization together.
Most women express their feelings better than most men do. The gender binary divide has caused this. Of cause, I do not exclude other genders, but I digress.

I think women are stronger in emotional things ( and they mean more)
from what I see,
A man would be more upset by the loss of his power ( such as a back injury, or loss of limb) on the average, than the loss of a girlfreind.
I guess its priorities.
men think more about things you can touch,or measure,
and women are more about the things that can be felt

Depends on what you mean by goes bad? Is it because a guy has cheated on her? Females are more emotional than males. And there is a difference between devasated and pissed off!!!!!
The situation , I should think, varies from country to country, may be religion to religion. But, generally , yes. women are more devastated than men. With particular reference my country, I can say that ,generally, men are main earning members of the family . Secondly, the care of the children , after a break up, falls more on the hands of the mothers than father, and thirdly , here , it is not that common for divorced women to remarry.
In such a scenario, atleast in the immediate period after such a break up of the relationship, women tend to feel helpless and devastated . Also, women , generally believe in longer lasting relationship.
I should add that once the women are out of this shock period they are much more resolute to handle the situation and manage their thingsvery well.
I have always felt the opposite. when I have had a breakup, they always seem to be in a good mood and glad of the breakup where I am the one that has the feelings and later bitterness to the breakup..
Women wear their emotions on their sleeves. They are emotional creatures, and although emotional, women seem to rely on men. I guess what im trying to say is that women veiw it as failure is the relationship doesnt work
oh, too difficult for me to answer in English, maybe better in Chinese. women are more caring about their reputation. it is thought the chaster women are, the better. and not good for all the men. especially in China.
The operative words are “seem to”.
It depends on the level of commitment by either or both parties.
If my wife were to tell me to go, I would not be able to function for some time.
The “seem to” comes in cause men have fragile egos that must be protected, so we assume an “I don’t care” attitude and carry on while we die inside.

Because so many women get into relationships where they try to fix or change their man. Then the guy is a jerk jsut like he was at the beginning and the women feels like she failed.
